If you're looking for something unique, chances are you'll be able to find it at Austin Found.
"I've always enjoyed finding unusual things, and I decided to turn it into a business," says owner Linda Cox.
The huge outdoor shop, located on South Lamar, resembles an enormous rummage sale. In it, there seems to be a little something for everyone -- antique sleds, unfinished needlepoint, old hairdryers, tie-dyed lampshades and even the boots of a "famous musician" who couldn't be named on camera.
"Some people find themselves overwhelmed, and I can completely relate," says Cox. "It can be overwhelming, but if you take the time to dig, most people leave with something that they like."
In the post-Ebay world, searching for antiques has become quite an impersonal undertaking. However, Linda Cox believes that doesn't have to be so.
"I enjoy interacting with people," she says. "I think when you're doing Ebay, that personal face-to-face interaction's not there, and you don't get as much flavor. I like the old fashioned business way."
