Tips of the Week

Prune trees

Add any manure or compost to your upcoming vegetable beds to make sure it has plenty of time to age before you plant

Avoid pruning freeze-damaged plants at this time

Spray fruit trees or other insect or disease-prone plants with a dormant oil

If you haven't yet picked out the roses you want, prepare their beds with a good compost and fertilizer

In honor of MLK day, consider planting an extra patch or row of vegetables and donating them to a food pantry
