Tips of the Week

  • Prune trees
  • Add any manure or compost to your upcoming vegetable beds to make sure it has plenty of time to age before you plant
  • Avoid pruning freeze-damaged plants at this time
  • Spray fruit trees or other insect or disease-prone plants with a dormant oil
  • If you haven't yet picked out the roses you want, prepare their beds with a good compost and fertilizer
  • In honor of MLK day, consider planting an extra patch or row of vegetables and donating them to a food pantry
