Plant of the Week: Ice Plant

Ice Plant

Tips of the Week

  • Plant melons, winter squash, eggplant, okra
  • Fertilize vegetables and container plants. By continuing to provide small amounts of fertilizer, you can keep them healthy, blooming, and really looking good.
  • In the landscape, when you water, remember that a deep soaking is the best way to do it. A thorough soaking promotes good deep rooting. You want to give the plant the water it needs but then let it dry out a bit to avoid drowning it.
  • Add that mulch. It helps fight weeds, which steal water, and it also helps protect the soil.
