Plant of the Week: Datura
Tips of the Week
Fend off mosquitoes! Check container trays, patio furniture, gutters, and other niches where even a bit of water is enough for them to lay eggs.
Water your fruit trees especially well during the heat of summer. The health of the plant now will ensure a good fruit crop next spring.
Lightly prune plants that have gone to seed to tidy up and encourage new growth. However, leaving some seeds on native plants provides food for birds.
If Salvia coccineas are looking weary, prune back to a new leaf node to encourage more growth and flowers.
