  • Fertilize your spring-flowering plants, perennials, and vegetables.
  • Mulch, but don't clump it up against the trunks of your plants.
  • Don't forget to give deep watering to new plants and fruit trees.
  • Collect seeds from spring annuals. Cut them off, dump into a bag or bucket. Next week, sift the seeds and dry in the house. Then, bag them up for cool storage until next fall.
  • Move spring bulbs while you can see them.
  • Plant beets, okra, cantaloupe, summer squash, tomatillos, cucumber, Swiss chard, peppers, sweet potato slips.
  • Plant summer annuals like caladiums, impatiens, marigolds, cosmos, celosia, begonias, coleus, zinnias, and globe amaranth.
  • Plant basil, lemon verbena, rosemary, oregano, and thyme.
