To Do This Week

browse by: date

Week of June 9th, 2012

  • Side-dress vegetables with a little compost or fertilizer to perk them up a bit.
  • Keep fruit trees well watered.
  • Be sure to water your new shrubs, trees, and perennials. Until they are established, they need deep watering once a week. Stick your finger in the soil to see if it's moist past the first inch. Be careful not to water plants just because they wilt in the evening. If the soil is already wet, this could rot the plant, especially our most xeric specimens.
  • Plant pumpkins and okra.
