KLRU’s Docubloggers contest puts TV in Central Texas’ hands

Austin, TX -- KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, seeks submissions for the community journalism series Docubloggers on the topic “Reflections on Life in Central Texas” for a special contest.  The Emmy-Award-wining series, takes a community-driven, interactive look at life in the region.

Top entries will be broadcast on the February 21st episode of Docubloggers. The first place winner will also receive a video camera. Entries will be judged by KLRU staff based on creativity and execution not production quality.  Multiple submissions are accepted. Submissions not airing on Docubloggers will be featured online at klru.org/docubloggers.

Videos should be between 30 seconds and five minutes in length and must be received by February 15, 2008.  Submit online at klru.org/docubloggers or send DVDs or tapes to Docubloggers Contest, KLRU-TV, PO Box 7158, Austin, Texas, 78713. Complete contest rules are available online.

Incorporating documentary filmmaking and viewer interaction, Docubloggers takes story ideas from the community it serves to create a portrait of the area. The series received a 2007 Lone Star Emmy Award for its pilot episode. The show airs at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays on KLRU-TV (broadcast 18, cable 9).
