You Helped KLRU Raise $100,000!

Thank you, thank you! Your commitment to KLRU is what keeps us going. The support of over 700 donors last week is why we can remain on air, online and out in the community, connecting all our neighbors and the world around us.

Not only did your gift help #YourKLRU reach $100,000, it allowed us to get through an entire period of fundraising in just FIVE DAYS with zero program interruption. Friday was an especially banner day as Central Texans stepped up to the call for a big final push, raising $30,000 on the last day of our June drive!

The ability to conduct our fundraising online only, while giving our neighbors back the high-quality content they depend on, is good for everyone, and we could not have done it without you!

A big thanks also to Longtime Supporters Ellen & David Berman and Lonnie & Polly Cooper and Business Supporter Emerson. The generous matching challenges they presented made a significant impact by encouraging the community to donate with the promise of dollar for dollar matching.

The Public Broadcasting Act of 1967 declares that “it is in the public interest to encourage the development of programming that involves creative risks__” and that is valuable to have media which can “__solve local problems through community programs and outreach.” Our mission to educate, inspire and entertain through programming, local workshops and screenings carries on these ideals 51 years later. The innovation and growth KLRU has achieved through YOUR viewer support leads us toward one constant principle: to serve the needs of our Central Texas neighbors.
