Q Night at the Movies presents Ghandi, the 1982 film based on the life of the titular character who moved India toward independence through non-violent protest. Directed by Richard Attenborough, Ghandi stars Ben Kingsley, Candice Bergen and Edward Fox. Before the movie, hear the latest from Hollywood actors and filmmakers. After the feature, we continue within India along with musician Alam Khan. It all starts at 7 p.m. Saturday on KLRU Q.

Feature Film Gandhi at 8 p.m. This acclaimed biographical drama presents major events in the life of Mohandas Gandhi (Ben Kingsley), the beloved Indian leader who stood against British rule over his country. Dedicated to the concept of nonviolent resistance, Gandhi is initially dismissed by English officials, including the influential Lord Irwin (John Gielgud), but eventually he and his cause become internationally renowned, and his gatherings of passive protest move India towards independence.

Play Like a Lion: The Legacy of Maestro Ali Akbar Khan at 11:10 p.m. Alam Khan travels to India on his first concert tour without his ailing father, legendary Indian classical maestro sarodist Ali Akbar Khan.
